If you've ever hit ChatGPT's length limits or watched a carefully crafted instruction get cut off, you need a reliable way to deliver long content in multiple parts without losing context. That's exactly what the ChatGPT Prompt Splitter does: it divides your text into well-structured chunks, adds clear START/END markers to each part, and lets you copy or export the result with one click.

What this tool does
- Splits your text into
Nparts based on a configurable chunk size - Wraps every part with markers for clarity:
--- START PART i/N ---and--- END PART i/N --- - Supports copying a single chunk or all chunks at once
- Exports chunks as
.txtor.mdfiles - Keeps everything local in your browser for privacy
Quick start (5 steps)
- Open the homepage: ChatGPT PROMPTs Splitter.
- Paste your long prompt or document into the input box.
- Adjust the chunk size until the preview looks suitable for your model and workflow.
- Review each chunk. You’ll see clear markers at the top and bottom of every part.
- Choose how to deliver:
- Click "Copy chunk" next to any part, or use "Copy all chunks"
- Export to file using "Export .txt" or "Export .md"
Copy vs. Export
- Copy single chunk: copies only that part (with START/END markers)
- Copy all chunks: concatenates all parts, each with markers
- Export
.txt: plain text with START/END markers between parts - Export
.md: includes## Chunk i/Nheadings plus START/END markers for readable sharing
Best practices for ChatGPT
- Put your system or core instructions in the first chunk
- Ask ChatGPT to confirm after each part: “Acknowledge and wait for the next part.”
- When sending the next chunk, remind the model to keep previous context: “Continue using the previous part(s).”
- Keep sections self-contained (avoid splitting in the middle of code blocks or lists)
- If a chunk is too big, reduce the chunk size and resend
Example workflow
- Paste a long SOP or prompt template.
- Split into 3–8 chunks depending on length.
- Send chunk 1 with: “Read only. Confirm when ready for part 2.”
- Send chunk 2 and 3. After the final chunk, ask ChatGPT to summarize or execute the full instruction.
Troubleshooting
- “ChatGPT says content is incomplete” → Resend the last chunk and remind it to continue.
- “Formatting looks messy in chat” → Use Markdown export for better readability.
- “Still hitting limits” → Lower the chunk size or split into more parts.
